SOUTH AFRICAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION SUES BENNI MCCARTHY & VUZU

Daily Sun reported that SAFA is taking legal action against the former soccer star and current host of Goal Diggerz,  for saying "SAFA operates like a spaza shop and is controlled by old people who have never kicked a ball in their life and if he had 100 million pounds, he would get rid of the madalas who run football."

According to reports, SAFA spokesman Dominic Chimhavi contacted Sunday Sun and informed the publication of the association's plan to take action against Vuzu TV because of the nasty statements uttered by Benni.

Read below for what Vuzu reportedly said:
“They (Safa) have sent legal papers to M-Net. They are suing both Benni McCarthy and Goal Diggerz for defamation of character.” Another source said: “I don’t know how they’re going to take someone who is not in the country to task. They don’t have grounds to sue us.” a source said told the publication.

“The comments were done in the context of a reality show between players sharing what they had experienced in their careers both positive and negative. “Safa can’t bully the channel on how they should run its shows,” Victor Koaho, Vuzu TV's marketing manager, added.
