GORDON IGESUND'S COACHING CONTRACT NOT RENEWED

SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan announced that Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund’s contract will not be renewed, in that he failed to fulfil two of his mandates as per his contract -:

1. Reaching the semi-finals of the 2013 CAF Africa Cup of Nations and
2. Qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

“The national executive committee (NEC) informed Gordon Igesund that his contract will not be renewed when it expires on the 31 August 2014. The search for the new coach will commence now and we are looking for a candidate who will take Bafana Bafana back to the glory days. He should be someone who takes us to the next level,” said Dr Jordaan.

Gordon's took office on 1 July 2012 and after 2 years of taking office, SAFA is not pleased with his perfomance. 

Dr Jordaan compared Gordon's predicament to that of writing exams, rephrasing his words "when you are a student and you write exams,  if you fail them you cannot be promoted to the next level"  So Igesund failed his exams, hence they let him go.

Now the search is on for his successor. Who do you think is going to take over and be the next Bafana Coach???
