METRO FM'S EDDIE ZONDI DIES AT THE AGE OF 47

Metro FM radio DJ Eddie Makhosonke Zondi (47) has died, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) confirmed the news.

The SABC spokesman, Kaizer Kganyago, made the following statement :

“We confirm as the SABC that we received the sad news that Eddie Zondi passed on this morning.”

and sent condolences to Zondi’s family.

It has been reported that he suffered a heart attack, however Kaizer could not confirm reports that the radio personality had suffered a heart attack. He apparently complained of chest pain and died on his way to hospital.

He was the host of the popular Metro FM show, The Romantic Repertoire, which aired on Sundays from 3pm to 6pm.
