Both rappers were nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award, which Nicki won and during her acceptance speech, the rapper said:

 "When Nicki Minaj spits, Nicki Minaj it...and no, no, no, no, no, no shade, um I hope and pray that BET continues to honour authenticity"

The war between these two ladies start after Forbes posted an article on Azalea declaring: "Hip-Hop Is Run By A White, Blonde, Australian Woman"

Nicki was not by any chance impressed with this and dismissed it in a radio interview, saying,

 "We rely on hip hop blogs and journalism for THAT kind of information."
