Read an excerpt from SundayWorld:
[If] you're looking for drama, curse outs and weave pulling, you'd best stick to the original American franchises. According to these housewives, this will be a much tamer version.
Former Miss India South Africa Sorisha Naidoo says she finally caved in after turning it down twice. "Looking at the other shows in the States, I decided I didn't want to be part of a show that has drama because I don't think that's who I am.
The group has since been on two holidays and are going on a third next month.
Champagne-loving Swanepoel says she never wanted to be famous. She is a divorcee who works with her ex-husband and has a younger lover. But don't call her a cougar.
Naidoo says that although her husband, business tycoon Vivian Reddy, was sceptical, he is supportive and consented to being part of it - albeit in a minimal way. Mash-Spies says her husband echoes the same sentiments. "He really doesn't want us to flash our wealth, but he understands that this is my dream."
Puleng Mash Spies:"Spies is a mother of two who infamously spoke of feeding a whole village in Africa with her Louboutins. She is in her second and final marriage. she a loud, blue-eyed; fashion forward, politically inclined diva. and known for having red wine for breakfast. Spies claimed to be a restaurateur but was found out to actually be a franchise owner."
Aimee Sadie:
"Sadie is a single, 30 year old part time model, entrepreneur and fashion buyer. She runs Desch, a family owned boutique in Sandton City "renowned for its elite clientele and exquisite fashions."
Sorisha Naidoo:
"Naidoo splits her time between Durban and Sandton. The former Scandal! actress has shied away from intense public scrutiny. But she was the crowned Miss India South Africa - 2001 and was a graveyard DJ who gradually graduated to Prime time breakfast DJ Hosted the lunchtime lot on Highveld stereo. She is an entrepreneur who owns and runs a leading Aesthetic Clinic and imports and exports range of her own cosmetics and recently launched her new product in Johannesburg – Crystal Tomato"
Nazli Delport:
"Delport's marital status is "complicated". Marketing manager at Hush and KONG night clubs and image consultant known for a great fashion sense and stunning legs. Viewers will surely tune in to find out what it takes to manage a portion of the multi million rand club industry."
Christie Swanepoel:
"Divorced but dating mother of two boys and two step sons. CEO for Energy at Work – a leader in temp recruitment. Works and plays hard, currently dating a younger man that’s running an IT company"
