The legitimacy of Rebecca Malope's SAMA victory called into question

Daily Sun reports that suspicion was raised after fellow gospel singer Jabu Hlongwane wzzs sent on stage without the envelop, that traditionally contains names of winners at award ceremonies,  and hurriedly told to announce Rebecca as the winner of the Best Traditional Faith Music winner.

According to the publication,  the source claims that the aforementioned award was meant for Deborah Fraser, who was asked to sit closer to the stage by the organisers. 

When asked for comments,  both Jabu & Deborah agreed something seemed fishy with the handing over of the said award.

The Director of Operations for the Recording Industry of South Africa, David du Plessis laughed it off and said the rumours were accurate and had been audited.
